GAF 588 (2049) 8mm projector page
7-15-25: Recently ordered this projector because it looks like a simpler, earlier version of the broken GAF 888 Z model I got last week. I don't see the fragile plastic main control switch, and it has less belts to replace. Simple is good. At the same time it uses the same motor and bulb, so I can salvage parts from dead ones. I wanted to learn more about movie cameras and projectors, and I sure am. Unlike old cameras, most old projectors don't work. They have brittle plastic gears and critical control mechanisms that probably worked perfectly for a few years. Hoping this model pre-dates all those modern improvements, and just shows the movie.
